Yep, I agree with your review pretty much 100%… accurate, detailed, very clear… although I admit it took me a while to finish reading because I didn’t find it very ‘exciting’ (although how exciting such a book on this particular subject is supposed to be, I’m not quite sure.)

Lol, sis. My Tawheed teacher (and this is more of an Arabic class than tawheed itself) would always say this is the subject that gets more nods than any other class. The nods of people sleeping that is - their heads bobbing up and down, hehe. I suppose it’s because it’s a straightforward, factual, strictly academic topic as opposed to like Fiqh with its contrasting opinions, Seerah with its awe-inspiring events, Akhlaq with its colourful anecdotes, etc., etc.

I guess it basically comes down to personal preference. Some people simply love learning Fiqh as it somehow increases their love for the deen, others its Sirah, and others also I’m sure enjoy ‘Aqeedah as being their prime interest, while others could very easily view those same topics as being bland.
Personally, I am still somewhat attracted to books of ‘Aqeedah. I used to hate books of Fiqh, and found them to be quite bland, but now I am developing a taste for Fiqh books.
May Allah guide us to that which is most pleasing to Him.
